I recently created these identical sheer velvet and tulle bonnets for the Daughters of Devotion. The design was based off the exaggerated collars in a recent Pam Hogg runway show. Each bonnet was made by hand with minimal machine stitching.
The bonnets are boned and fully wired. The stripes were created with velvet ribbon and the edges were finished in hand cut bias velvet ribbons. The backs of the bonnets are covered in recycled black leather sewn onto hand blocked buckram.
Here are the Daughters of Devotion in the finished looks complete with Zana Bayne harnesses and Bo Peep wigs. If you're looking for dark Easter inspiration, this is it.
Will you be rocking a bonnet on Easter Sunday?
